Amphibious Houses

A Dutch company called WaterStudio has designed an amphibious house. The house is designed to float on water. The bottom of the house is a foam encased in concrete with steel cables holding it in place. The house is designed so it will rise with the water level. It is currently being built in an area in the Netherlands where they moved back the flood gates to set aside 1.2 million acres as a flood zone for rising waters. These amphibious houses are the only houses allowed to be built in this area.
